The Best Cat in the World

Pebbles
He was the best cat in the world. My son could
carry him around like this and he loved it. We
named him Pebbles 'cause we already had a Bam
Bam and we also got his sister Wilma. We had him
for about eleven years. He got sick one day and died.
He is buried in our yard with a stone on his grave.
He was a very loving cat. He was nice to all the other
cats we had and loved to play with new kittens. We've
never had another cat quite like him. Rest in peace,
Pebbles.

Kissa

This cat is so much fun. Every day. I get lots of scratches because we play a lot. She likes to play hide and seek. She always wins! She is now four years old. She's not a sit on your lap kind of cat. She doesn't rub up against your leg when you walk and try to trip you. But she does stay in every room I'm in and sit near me. In the bedroom she sleeps on the recliner and occasionally at the foot of the bed if I've been gone all day. She's a good house cat.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof? No, Cat in a Bread Box!

I took the lid off and she just jumped right in there 'cause
she's curious like that.  She was laying down completely
and I could have put the lid on, until I went to get the camera.
Yes, I purchased my Italian Spode bread box.  I bought it
off  Ebay, it was brand new though and came in its original
box unopened.  Kissa thinks everything is for her.  Every
box that comes in the mail is inspected for quality.  Our
outdoor kitty Minny came running in the front door the
other day and walked past Kissa and growled at her.  But
Kissa decided she was mad as hell and wasn't gonna take it
anymore!  Kissa hunkered down like a panther, flattened
out her body, and ran after Minny, pounced on her.  They
rolled around for a few seconds and Minny headed for the
front door which I opened and zoomed out.  Kissa looked
rather pleased to have taken care of business.  I could only
laugh.

Magnanimous

Magnanimous:
Very generous or forgiving, esp. toward a rival or someone
less powerful than oneself.
Now in this case I am the less powerful one but I also have
to be the forgiving one.  She always wins!  We play tag and
she wins.  We play hide and seek.  She wins.  I was looking
at her laying on a quilt yesterday and I thought, "What a life
of luxury.  She follows me from room to room and finds a
suitable, comfortable place to sit and watch or sleep.  She
has every comfort and food that she could hope for.  But I
love her.  It is also very nice to be able to give such a small
creature pleasure.  I can massage her neck and rub her head
and it takes me very little effort.  I wish someone could do that
for me with little effort.  Her fur is so soft and pleasing to me
that is my pleasure.  Ah, the life of the indoor cat!

Because I'm a Copy "Cat"

Call me a copy "cat" but I found this so funny on Bossy's blog today that I just had to try it.
Of course, the real person we are copying is HER.
I decided to show you my dance moves wearing my
lovely new Hunter boots.  I would like to call this
my "first-and-a-half position" but sweet Minne-sota
wanted to come closer to my side.

Now this is my "second-no-fourth position" move.
Notice Marsipan is not as big as a cow.

Now I like to call this my "battlement frappes" position.
Notice I said "I like to" not that it is really.  Notice Marsipan
has spun around for a quick "glissade."

Minne is quite enthralled that I am in this position.
I will call it "focus on the cat plie." Not to be confused
with the "cow pile."

I entertain Minne with a "grand plie" and she does a
"ronds de jambe a terre".  Please take note that "terre"
means "earth."

To be good in ballet it helps to be flexible.
That is why I am wearing rubber boots.
Flexible moves.  Minne looks a little
irritated.  I wonder why?

Hobbes is working on the "cow pie scratch."  He has
got that move down.

Now just to pick and choose, "which pie do I want?"
Preferably the drier ones work best.  "Plie, anyone?"

The cows hear me laughing.
Pas de deux...

They come for a closer look.
Oh, that might be my zoom lens.

The "rest" of the cows are resting.

Sunshine

Always makes me smile:

You need a healthy dose of it every day.
Vitamin D and a smile.
Add a little color and a kitty too.

Fun Monday

Lisa's Chaos is the hostess with the mostest this week:
She's keeping it simple
She wants pictures of our pets.
First we have fish:  an angelfish and pleicostomus and
a corydoris

Then there's the lovable hugable Hobbes

Minnie or Minnesota as I like to call her

Marsipan the globe trotter

Ben the bengal, still can only get five feet close to him.

Neons
"She's always buzzin just like
Neon, neon, neon, neon
Who knows how long, how long, how long
She can go before she burns away"

Kissa, the Russian kitty
She came to us one night as a small kitty that was
abandoned and now she rules our home.

Here's a small kitty picture of Kissa

This black cat is Velvet.
She moved to Grandma's house to keep her company.
She now lives with Aunt Sue.
